The main difference is the technician MUST work for an irrigator, so if you are wanting to own your own business, you need to be a Licensed Irrigator. This allows you to pull city permits, do design work and bid jobs.
The second difference is the length and cost of the training:
Licensed irrigator: 4 days and $550
Licensed technician: 2 days and $350
Finally, the technician exam is given in Spanish as well as English; therefore, we do the class is full Spanish OR an English-only class with Spanish handouts. The irrigator is English ONLY.
